Karlsson Logs Team-High Minutes, Finds No Scoring in Pittsburgh Loss
The Penguins fall 3-2 to Vegas at home, and a penalty and a pair of turnovers mark an otherwise scoreless night for their blue-liner.
Erik Karlsson played more than anyone else on the Penguins and finished without a point as Pittsburgh lost 3-2 to Vegas at home.
His 24:44 of ice time was a team high among 18 skaters and the most of any of the club's six defencemen. He logged 23 shifts, put two shots on goal, finished 0-0-0 and even in plus/minus. He took two penalty minutes and gave the puck away twice.
Both of his shots on goal came in the same split: one at even strength and one on the power play, each on four shot attempts. Neither found the net.
That is a step back from his season line of 3 goals and 13 assists in 15 games, which leads the Penguins in points. His 24:44 sat a little above his usual 23.4 minutes a night.
Pittsburgh is now 5-8-2, on a two-game losing streak, and still hunting a wild-card spot.
