Finnie Stays Off the Sheet as Red Wings Drop Tampa Tilt
Detroit's forward logs plenty of ice but never gets a shot through as the Lightning protect their home ice.
Emmitt Finnie had a quiet night in Tampa. He finished without a point, without a shot on goal and at minus one, as the Red Wings fell 4-2 to the Lightning.
He was on the ice for 19:36 over 22 shifts, sixth among Detroit's 18 skaters and third among the team's 12 forwards. All of his work came at even strength, where he had three shot attempts but none reached the net. He added one hit and one blocked shot, and he took no penalties.
It was a departure from his season line of seven goals and four assists in 16 games, a line built on 35 shots. He averages 18.2 minutes a night, so this was a bit above his usual workload, without a shot to show for it.
Detroit is now 7-6-3 and still holds a wild-card spot. Tampa Bay improved to 7-0-0 at home.
