Celebrini Logs Big Minutes, Sharks Fall Short in Boston
San Jose's top skater by ice time among forwards sets up one goal but ends on the wrong side of a 6-4 decision at TD Garden.
Macklin Celebrini played 21:38 against Boston, second among the Sharks' 18 skaters and first among their 12 forwards, and finished with one assist in a 6-4 loss.
The assist came at even strength. On the power play he took one shot on goal and three shot attempts, with no points. Over the game he had one shot on goal, one blocked shot and one giveaway, and he finished minus two over 23 shifts.
That is a quieter night than the season line suggests: 5 goals and 10 assists through 10 games, with 22.7 minutes a game. His ice time here sat just below that average.
San Jose is now 6-5-1 and still in the playoff race, as the second wild card in the West. One assist and a minus two was not enough to change the result in Boston.
