Sam Dickinson Stays Quiet as Sharks Drop Home Game
Defenceman logged his usual minutes and made four giveaways in a narrow loss to Edmonton
Sam Dickinson played a quiet night in San Jose’s 3-1 home loss, recording no points and finishing with a minus-one. Listed as a defenceman, he skated 16:40 over 19 shifts, which ranked 11th among the team’s 18 skaters and 6th of six defencemen.
Stat line: 0 goals, 0 assists, 0 points, 0 shots on goal, 1 hit, 0 blocked shots, 4 giveaways and 0 takeaways. Through three games this season he has 1 assist and is minus 3 on the year; his season average ice time is 16.3 minutes per game. The night was notable not for scoring or defensive plays but for the four giveaways that stood out on an otherwise quiet box score.
This outing aligns with his season usage — near his season average for ice time — but the giveaways and a minus rating made it a tougher night in a game the Sharks lost at home.
