Perfetti’s Power-Play Night Lifts Winnipeg
Three-point effort, all on the man advantage, drives a 3-2 win over Detroit in the opener
Cole Perfetti was the story offensively, finishing with 1 goal and 2 assists — all on the power play — in Winnipeg's 3-2 victory. He skated 17:12 and logged 20 shifts, ranking 9th among the team's 18 skaters and 4th of 12 forwards in ice time. The power play accounted for his full box-score impact (power-play goals: 1; production-by-strength shows his three points all came on the power play), and his night included 2 shots on goal, 1 blocked shot and a -1 plus-minus. On the season ledger he appears with 1 point in 1 game, and the on-ice numbers show strong chance creation in plain terms: his teammates' chances while he was on the ice were worth noticeably more than the chances against. Plainly: Perfetti made the power play click and delivered a three-point game in the opener to help secure the win.
